Sourcing

We traverse the globe to the world's most venerated mills — from the Alashan steppes of Inner Mongolia to the centuries-old worsted wool houses of Biella, Italy. Every fiber is selected for its hand-feel, durability, and ability to drape with architectural precision.

Design

Our design philosophy is rooted in reduction — removing the superfluous until only the essential form remains. Each silhouette is drafted, draped, and refined at our Marche atelier, where the human form is the sole reference point and proportion is paramount.

The Materials

An Obsession
with Excellence

All exceptional design begins with the fabric. Valtierri sources exclusively from the world's most prestigious spinning and weaving mills — from the ultra-fine, undyed organic cashmere harvested in the Mongolian Highlands to the exquisitely worsted wools crafted by artisan mills in Biella, Italy.

Our cashmere fibers measure 14.5–16 microns in diameter — finer than the world's softest wool. Each batch is traceable to the specific herd and season of harvest. We curate touch in its purest form, capturing an impeccable drape and architectural structure that defines the Valtierri silhouette.

The Founding

Valtierri is established in a modest atelier in Marche, Italy, by third-generation tailor Alessandro Valtierri, driven by a singular commitment to handcrafted knitwear.

1998

The Mongolian Alliance

A landmark partnership with herder cooperatives in the Alashan region secures exclusive access to the world's finest cashmere — a relationship that continues to this day.

2011

The Biella Atelier

A dedicated fabric development studio opens in Biella, Italy, allowing Valtierri to design proprietary yarn blends with the world's most venerated wool mill.
